About 750 people packed the Peppermill Resort-Spa-Casino last Friday for the Wolf Pack’s fifth-annual Blue Tie Ball — a spike from last year’s 530-person attendance. The signature event is a fundraiser for Nevada athletic scholarships featuring dinner, auctions and entertainment for student-athletes.
With tickets to the event running at $200, the athletic department expects to have grossed more than six figures.
“It’s unbelievable for our community to come together to support the Wolf Pack this way,” Nevada Athletic Director Doug Knuth said. “It’s really meaningful to me as the athletic director, and it’s incredibly meaningful to our student athletes and coaches.”
Featuring a carnival theme, the Blue Tie Ball was a sight to see.
