According to event attendee Gunjun Brar, the Holi (or Holika) festival is typically celebrated from February to the end of March. In Indian culture, the festival represents new beginnings and love. It also allows for people from different castes or different origins to meet and ignore social gaps. HOLI_BreannaDenney_6

Brar said that Indian culture has lots of spicy foods. The food at the event was ordered from India Kebab and Curry. Pakodas, gulab jamun , tikkis, chutney and maroh were among some of the foods served at the event.

Performer Al Mehbuba danced at the event along with Sherly Chourappa and students from the university’s dance department to Bollywood songs including “Nagada Dhol” and “Balam Pichkari”.
