Imagine your self with no worries, kicking back enjoying a nice cold Bahama Mamma as a slight breeze crosses over your sun tanned face. Yes my friends Spring Break is upon us.

This semester came in by storm and it’s time we start thinking of Spring Break as the pregame for summer. It’s simple — all you have to do is practice what you would do during those three glorious months. Wake up late, binge-watch a new show on Netflix, swim or just listen to your favorite album back to back over and over again.

It doesn’t matter what you have planned or what you don’t have planned, what matters is that you actually take some time to smell the roses. It’s cliche, but it’s true.

The image that comes to my mind when I think about Spring Break is lots of sunshine, sleep and pure joy.

We need to take breaks when life starts to get chaotic. It doesn’t mean your attention should veer away from the chaotic factors in your life completely, but they should be put on hold for a little bit so you can get your mind right.

The image that comes to my mind when I think about Spring Break is lots of sunshine, sleep and pure joy.

Use your downtime to have fun with friends and family.

During this break, find time to turn up. Nothing can kick off a stress-free break like good times with good people.

It doesn’t matter where you’re going to enjoy your break, the only things that matters are the activities you partake in and the memories that you make.

Whether it be a trip to Mexico or Grandma’s house, make sure you utilize your time efficiently. Don’t ruin your break by checking WebCampus every five seconds to see what you got on your midterms, or social media to see what everyone else is doing.

All that will do is conflict with all of the great times you should be having, and that’s what spring break should consist of. So just do you.

You need to be doing a lot of laughing, sleeping, eating, outdoor activities and did I mention sleeping?

Even though Spring Break is just a week, you can still treat it like summer. Now don’t let that go your head too much. Try not to mess up you sleep schedule, because Monday will be a rough one.

Do things that you wouldn’t normally have the time for, if you weren’t on break. For most of us that is better said than done. You have to make it a priority, just like you currently do for the things you do during your regular schedule.

I can’t stress enough how important it is to actually make it a point to have fun. I understand that it can be hard to let go of stressful thoughts, because they will be relevant when you get back into your schedule, but you have to let some of them go temporarily.

If you hold onto stressful thoughts you’re going to be stressed, it’s inevitable. Dwelling never does any good, so step it up because the only person you’ll hurt is yourself.

You don’t want to be the reason why you didn’t have a good time over Spring Break.

Summer is the major leagues; it’s the time of year where days never seem to come to an end and you just want to stay up all night. I wouldn’t even know where to start when thinking about what the best part of summer is because it’s the epitome of adventure and great times.

I always liked to think that summer supplies you with some of the best tools in life because you do have more free time to get to know yourself and discover new things about yourself.

Keep in mind that summer is around the corner and Spring Break is just a little taste of what’s to come. Start summer off right by enjoying Spring Break and having a good time.
