Photo by Rachel Jackson. Nevada women’s tennis ends 2-7 in conference and 10-11 overall.

Nevada women’s tennis played their final two opponents of the season on April 22 and 23. In both appearances, they lost. The Wolf Pack ended their season with a 2-7 conference standing. Overall, the team went 8-10 for the season. 

First, the women faced Wyoming on April 22 and lost 1-4.

The Wolf Pack did not win any of the doubles matches. They lost two matches, and Anastasia Luneva and Carla Del Barro had an unfinished match against the number twos. 

Nevada only won one singles match. Selina Turulja defeated number four in two sets at 6-1 and 6-4. Gabriella Charalampidi and Mariana Campino both had unfinished matches that went into four sets. Luneva, Cristina Moll Alles, and Del Barrio lost their matches in two sets.

Next, the women played Colorado State on April 23 and lost 0-4. 

Campino and Turulja won a doubles match for Nevada at 6-3. The team did not win any singles matches. Three of the six singles went unfinished. 

In the Mountain West, Nevada women’s tennis finished ranked ninth out of 11 teams. Fresno State claimed first with a 10-0 conference season. 

The Mountain West Women’s Tennis Championships will begin on April 27. Nevada will face New Mexico and, if they win, will go against Fresno State.
