Meet the Staff

Emerson Drewes (she, her, hers) is currently a sophomore at the University of Nevada, Reno. She has been working at The Nevada Sagebrush since her freshman year and served as the Assistant News Editor and News Editor before obtaining her current position as Editor-in-Chief. Drewes’ work at the Sagebrush has led her to professional internships at the National Judicial College and the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Jaedyn Young (she, her, hers) is a sophomore English-Creative Writing and Journalism double major. This is her first year at the Nevada Sagebrush as the Arts and Entertainment Editor. Young also works as a book reviewer for InD’tale Magazine and plans to someday go into publishing. She enjoys writing, reading, and traveling in her free time. Kelsey Middleton (she, her, hers) is a junior majoring in journalism and minoring in sports management. Sports have been something she’s loved her whole life from playing soccer, softball and volleyball. She aspires to be a reporter for any major professional sports league, interviewing athletes throughout a game. Jessica Cabera (she/they) is a second-year student at the University of Nevada, Reno majoring in Journalism with a minor in graphic design. Rachel Jackson (she, her, hers/they, them, theirs) is a third-year student majoring in Journalism and minoring in photography. She previously worked as a student reporter and street photographer for Our Town Reno. Rachel is pursuing a career in photojournalism after graduating.
