Wasabi bowls with vegetables and  rice, raw power bowls and other  healthy meals that are gluten-free,  vegetarian and vegan friendly will soon  be available in the center of campus.   The vacant space on the second floor  of the Joe Crowley Student Union be tween Panda Express and Port of Subs  will soon be occupied by Great Full  Gardens, a locally owned restaurant  with one current location in Midtown  Reno.

The owners also own Pathway’s  Cafe, in the University of Nevada, Reno  Medical School.   According to the Great Full Gardens  website, they pride themselves on serving fresh, locally grown and organic  food.  Its extensive Midtown menu  will be condensed in order to function  smoothly in the student union.

“Some of our food will have to be  prepped before,” said Gino “The Soup Man” Scala, one of the owners, “but  prepped to us, is making it fresh that  morning.”  The owners plan to set up the space  so most things are ready for sale in the  display case, but if something needs  to be cooked it will only take a few  minutes.

The owners aim to open Great Full  Gardens Express in the Joe in August  2014, where they will be accepting  Wolfbucks.  For now, if you are looking  for vegan or vegetarian friendly food  on campus or want a taste of what  Great Full Gardens has to offer, check  out Pathway’s Cafe in the medical  school.
