Nevada’s Greta Ochsner competes against University of Texas, El Paso on Sunday, Oct. 5. The Wolf Pack defeated UTEP in the smallbore 2288-2248 behind Ochsner’s score of 576.
Nevada opened up its season with a home match against No. 20 University of Texas, El Paso. Nevada was able to defeat the Miners 4,603 to 4,580 in a Patriot Rifle Conference match.
Nevada won the small bore com- petition 2,228 to 2,248. Junior Greta Ochsner’s shot a 576 and freshman Sarah Jameson shot 573 and fellow freshman Stephani Cooksey shot a 570. UTEP had the top two scores of the competition with Amy Bock and Rachael Schoenrock tying for first with a 580.
UTEP was able to win the air rifle competition 2,332 to 2,248 with UTEP’s Jasmine Juarez posting the top score with a 584. Nevada’s top scorer was again Ochsner who shot a 583. Lauren Zerkovich was Nevada’s second highest scorer with a 579. Every Nevada competitor shot at least a 575.
Nevada will travel to El, Paso, Texas to take on UTEP and Ohio State. The Ohio State match will be next Sunday, Oct. 12.
