The Laden Senate Chambers as it stands on Monday, Oct. 22. The Associated Students of the University of Nevada’s 2020 elections are on Mar. 11 and 12.

Students can expect two ballot questions on their ballots for the general ASUN elections held on March 11 and 12.

The first question would remove all gender pronouns in the ASUN constitution and replace them with position titles instead. The goal of this change is to increase inclusivity.

In 2018, senators of the 86th Session passed legislation that eliminated gender pronouns in the Statutes of the Associated Students, a document that contains the laws of ASUN.

The second question would change the required grade point average minimum from 2.75 to 2.5 for those holding ASUN office.

The question saw heavy debate in the Feb. 26 senate meeting

Both ballot questions seek to alter the ASUN constitution, which requires two-thirds of the voting population to vote in favor in order for each to be ratified.

Students can vote on WebCampus through the elections module or in-person at the Center for Student Engagement in the Joe Crowley Student Union, starting at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, March 11 and ending at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 12.
