One win and one loss against two California schools was how the weekend went for Nevada men’s tennis. On Feb. 25 they lost to BYU 3-4 and two days later beat Saint Mary’s 4-2.
The doubles matches are where Nevada struggled against BYU. The number ones and threes lost and the number twos went unfinished.
Three singles matches were won by Nevada. Number six, Ambroise Marchand, beat Zach Fuchs 6-2 and 6-3. Juan Batalla won both sets 6-4 against his number three component. Number one Matheo Coupu won 6-3 and 7-6.
BYU won 4-3.
Two of three doubles matches were won by Nevada against Saint Mary’s. Daniel Dudockin and Batalla beat number threes 6-3. Satchel Benn and Loris Zisswiller beat number twos 7-6.
Although Benn was not able to win his singles match, Zisswiller did in three sets. Batalla beat Karlo Divkovic in two sets, 6-2 and 6-4. Dudockin had an unfinished match. Marchand beat number five from Saint Mary’s 7-5 and 6-4.
Nevada won 4-2.
Men’s tennis will be at the Golden Gate Invitational on March 11 and 12 for their next competitors.
