First place winners of Mackay Week, Sigma
Alpha Epsilon and Nevada Cheer are the first time
holders of the Mackay Cup.

Last week, the University of Nevada, Reno celebrated university contributor, John Mackay, with a week of campus events that included a three on three basketball tournament in front of the Joe Crowley Student Union, a Mackay mining competition where Raising Canes was served, an evening wear pageant and a performance from electronic dance music artist RL Grime. To add a competitive twist to the new Mackay Week tradition, students had the option of creating teams and competing in the events throughout the week. The winning team would have the privilege of having their team name etched on the Mackay Cup.
